Delivery & Returns

DISPATCH & TRACKING

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday. Orders placed before 1pm on a working day are typically dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 1pm, or on weekends and bank holidays, are dispatched the next working day.

Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive an email with your Royal Mail or courier tracking number. You can track your parcel directly on the Royal Mail website or via the courier's tracking page.

Heavy items (top dressing, large fertiliser bags) are sent via courier rather than Royal Mail and may have slightly different delivery windows. We'll confirm the courier and tracking details in your dispatch email.

DELIVERY AREAS

We currently deliver to mainland UK only. This includes England, Scotland, and Wales. We do not currently ship to Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, or internationally.

Some remote Scottish postcodes (AB, DD, IV, KW, PA, PH prefix) may incur a small additional surcharge for express delivery due to courier pricing in those areas. Standard delivery is always available at the standard rate regardless of postcode.

SEASONAL DELIVERY — YEAR ROUND BUNDLE

The Year Round bundle is delivered in four separate shipments timed to arrive just before each season's activity window:

You'll receive an email 7 days before each shipment with a reminder of what's included and any seasonal guidance relevant to current conditions. All four shipments are included in the original Year Round bundle price — there are no additional delivery charges.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

30-day returns

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return any item for a full refund. Items must be returned in their original, unopened packaging. Opened seed bags cannot be returned for hygiene and biosecurity reasons unless the product is faulty.

Faulty or incorrect items

If you receive a faulty product or the wrong item, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll arrange a free return collection and send a replacement immediately — or issue a full refund, whichever you prefer. You don't need to pay return postage in this case.

Seed that fails to establish

If your seed hasn't established within the expected germination window and you followed our sowing guide, contact us. We'll assess the situation and, in most cases, send a replacement. We ask that you share basic information about your soil conditions and sowing method so we can understand what happened and advise correctly. This isn't us being difficult — it genuinely helps us give you the right outcome.

HOW TO RETURN AN ITEM

CONTACT US FIRST
Email hello@lawntheory.co.uk with your order number, the item you want to return, and the reason. We'll confirm the return and send instructions within one working day.

PACK THE ITEM SECURELY
Use the original packaging if possible. Include a note with your name and order number inside the parcel so we can identify it on arrival.

POST IT BACK
We'll provide a return address. For standard returns, postage is at your cost. For faulty or incorrect items, we'll arrange a free label or collection.

REFUND PROCESSED
Once we receive and inspect the return, your refund is processed within 3–5 working days back to your original payment method.

YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You have the right to cancel any order within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason (the cooling-off period). To exercise this right, contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.

Return postage for a standard cooling-off period cancellation is at your cost. If the returned item reduces in value due to handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics, we may deduct an amount from your refund.
