Built for Britain's toughest soil. Aggressive root architecture breaks up compaction while the surface establishes fast even in waterlogged conditions. Deep-rooting cultivars help it cope with compaction and summer drying.

Available in 1kg, 2.5kg and 5kg bags. Each 1kg covers about 28m² of new lawn at 35g/m², or 50m² when overseeding an existing lawn at 20g/m².

Best applied in spring or autumn. Water in well after application and keep the seedbed moist until establishment is complete.

01
Test Your Soil
Use a simple pH test kit to confirm your soil pH. This step alone can double your success rate.
02
Prepare the Bed
Rake to a fine tilth, remove stones and weeds. For clay soils, add sharp sand and aerate first.
03
Sow Evenly
Apply at 35g/m² using a broadcast spreader or by hand. Sow in two directions for even coverage.
04
Water & Wait
Keep the seedbed consistently moist. First mow when grass reaches 75mm — cut to 50mm.
Cultivar Selection
Every Lawn Theory blend is made from named, certified grass cultivars chosen for the conditions on the front of the bag. The exact varieties and their percentages are printed on every pack — UK seed law requires it, and we think you should know what you're sowing anyway.
— How we build our blends
pH Performance
Soil pH controls how easily grass roots can take up nutrients. Most are freely available between pH 6.0 and 7.0; below about pH 5.5, phosphorus starts to lock up and lawns can yellow even when fed. That's why every blend lists the pH range it's built for.
